Baked Shrimp with Tomato Feta Sauce Recipe

Traditional cooking knowledge says that you need to never ever couple seafood with cheese. The one glaring example of where this convention does not hold true, and in fact pleads to be broken, is with a classic Greek dish called shrimp saganaki. It pairs shrimp with tomatoes and feta cheese and is definitely tasty in every rule-breaking way.

We discovered a stunning example of this classic dish in a publication by Fine Cooking several years back. You make a fast and easy tomato sauce on the stovetop with onions, garlic, and tomatoes, then include shrimp and feta and plop it in the oven to bake. Easy!

Now my father will be the very first to tell you that he doesn't like shrimp. The majority of shrimp dishes I suggest are generally met that suggestion and a modification of subject. However this one appeared so appealing, we had to make it.

We tried it early one afternoon so we might get good light for a photo, then needed to taste it. We kept tasting it, and tasting it, then we had to call my mother over due to the fact that we were well on our method to eating the whole pan. The only thing I want we had at the time was some crusty Italian bread to dip in the sauce.
